Mellor Ware meets Mary!

Last night saw the launch of 'Mary' in Manchester's House of Fraser, and what a launch it was! There were beautiful Italian canapes (the largest prawns I've ever seen!), champagne, a skiffle band (singing covers of Lady Gaga & Katy Perry), the Coronation Street cast, Mary's apprentices from the factory, a nail bar, goodie bags and I even got to see Mary's knickers! Mary herself was in attendance and was really keen for me to show her the Mellor Ware on display in store! I had a wonderful time meeting the customers and explaining the stories behind the collection, and Emma got to meet her favourite Corrie character, Anthony Cotton who plays Sean! If you're in the Manchester area, pop in and have a peak at the homewares corner, I'd love to know what you think!

Trinket Box's now available!

For the first time we have uploaded all of our Trinket Box's to Etsy and Folksy! They are the perfect size to store all your bits and bobs in rather than your bedside table! They would be a lovely gift for someone special and come in three different sizes with all different designs. You can purchase a trinket box from either of the following sites. http://www.etsy.com/people/liannemellor?ref=si_pr http://folksy.com/shops/liannemellor

Mellor Ware is 2 invitations!

On April 13th, Mellor Ware will be 2! I still can't quite believe what we have managed to accomplish in the short time we have been in business! To celebrate, we are holding a birthday party fit for a 2 year old in our Sheffield studio! There will be games, jelly, music and lovely decorations. I designed our special invitations using the illustrations I finished last week! I think they look lovely and am very much looking forwards to celebrating our 2nd Birthday in style! If you fancy coming along for the festivities, or have an event that you'd like me to design invitations for, just get in touch at Lianne@MellorWare.co.uk

Bespoke illustrations!

Last year a lovely customer (although I think all Mellor Ware customers are lovely!) contacted me to see if I could personalise 2 foxtrot teacups with a beautiful heartfelt sentiment for her boyfriend. I was pleased to be able to help, and was even happier to find out that a couple of months later, he had popped the question and they were getting married! They both love Mellor Ware illustrations (especially the fox ones) and asked if I could design some bespoke illustrations for their wedding stationary! I jumped at the chance and called them in for a consultation (accompanied by the obligatory cuppa & biscuit combo) and I have really enjoyed representing their individual characters and themes for the wedding! If you have a special even coming up and would like Mellor Ware illustrations for your invites, thank you's or postcads please get in touch by emailing Lianne@MellorWare.co.uk and we'd be happy to discuss your requirements further!

Party time!

I've been squirelling away working on some new illustrations based on animals preparing for a party! We've got balloons, paper hats and bunting! I'd love to know what you think! What products would you like to see these on?

'Mary' at House Of Fraser

In January, Mary Portas did an open call to try and find british homeware designers that can stock in her 'Mary' shops in House Of Fraser's nationwide! I applied and was shortlisted to present to her business partner Peter Cross and a panel of her executives and buyers! The pitch went really well, and Mellor Ware will now be stocked in 'Mary'! I'm really excited to be working with such a a fantastic household name and am looking forward to seeing how Mellor Ware is received by the House Of Fraser customers. The manchester store will be launching on Thursday the 22nd of March!

Egg & Soldiers!

Nothing beats a soft boiled egg served with hot buttery soldiers... unless that egg is served in a Mellor Ware egg cup! It's coming up to Easter now which means new born lambs, easter chicks and egg hunts a-plenty! We all love chocolate, but why not combine it with a gift you can use every morning to help you go to work/school/playtime on an egg! All you need is an egg cup, a small chocolate egg of your choice and some colourful ribbon to tie it all together and you have the perfect Easter present to hide in the garden for a hunt! You can buy your Mellor Ware egg cups in out Etsy or Folksy shops. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MellorWare or http://folksy.com/shops/liannemellor

Museum Sheffield

Last year I was invited by Museum Sheffield to create some merchandise for their upcoming exhibition 'under the sea'. I created a series of 7 illustrations telling the tale of a hammerhead shark discovering a sunken picnic hamper, and how all the creatures use their new 'treasure'. You have a hermit crab living in a teapot, an octopus serving afternoon tea and lobsters using cutlery! The illustrations have been placed on bone china items such as tea-for-one, cake stands and vases, as well as A3 prints being available! You can see the exhibition now at Millennium Galleries and you can purchase the merchandise in the shop and online!

Spring Fair!

Back in February, we took Mellor Ware to Spring Fair International at the Birmingham NEC, and despite the snow's best efforts, we had a fantastic week! The launch of our brand new aprons and oven gloves was really well received and we got some wonderful feedback from visitors! We met lots of lovely customers, got the opportunity to showcase our products, met Ken Hom and even came away with some exciting new stockists!
